The rumours linking Premier League side Everton to Brazilian winger Everton Cebolinha haven’t died yet.
It had been a while since stories about the Toffees last appeared, but they’re mentioned in an article from Globo Esporte today.
The report is mainly about Napoli’s attempt to sign the player. Following claims from Italy, Globo Esporte now managed to confirm they’re preparing an offer of €25m for the 24-year-old.
But the bid is yet to be made official, so both Grêmio and his agents are currently waiting for things to become formal.
Everton himself is also said to be waiting, but not only for Napoli. The player knows he’s been followed by the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Everton, so he’ll be patient until the transfer window is opened.
Despite the strong rumours about Napoli, Everton’s father still said the situation is very open.
“I think Germany was better. But Everton will never close doors for any club. Every player has two dreams: National team and playing in Europe. He’s 24 years old. I think so, it’s time to renew the Grêmio cycle, give the space to Pepê. Grêmio need that too. I look forward to seeing what that proposal is.”
Since Grêmio also believe it’s time for Everton to go, they should accept a lot less than what they’ve been demanding in past transfer windows.
