Unless you’re a hardcore Bolton or Coventry fan, the name Khalilou Fadiga might not mean a lot to you, yet Noah Fadiga, his son, is someone you might be hearing a lot of in the future.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder recently signed his first professional contract with Club Brugge in Belgium in order to follow in his father’s footsteps.

However, instead of doing so, the young playmaker could have easily chosen to go to the Premier League, with Everton and Southampton both said to have been interested in his services at the time of signing his deal.

This is what RFI, relayed by Senego, state on Friday, explaining that both Ronald Koeman and, back then, Claude Puel were excited by his talent, as well as a couple of Serie A outfits in AS Roma and Genoa.

Choosing Belgium instead of a move to Goodison Park or St Mary’s, the young talent is also highly regarded by sponsors, with a contract with a Nike contract under his belt already.

With three nationalities to choose from in the future (Belgium (, France or Senegal), it seems Fadiga has the world at his feet, and it will be interesting to see if his name comes up in the future.

If Everton and Southampton were tracking him before his professional contract, you can be sure they’ll be keeping an eye on him as he fights for a spot in Club Brugge’s first-team.
