A couple of days ago, the Daily Mail reported that Everton were interested in signing KAS Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru, having ‘expressed’ a desire to do so.
Whether that meant being in contact with the player or the club wasn’t revealed, but OwnGoalNigeria seem to have the answer to that.
According to the website, Everton have already met with the player, and so have Southampton, while rivals Liverpool are also said to be interested, but are yet to make any form of official contact with him or his entourage.
While the English press think £7m will be enough to convince Eupen to let go of their starlet, the Nigerian outlet claim ‘a package close to €15m’, including add-ons based on success and future transfer percentages, is more realistic.
For the likes of Southampton and the Toffees, a €15m expenditure on a player who could have a similar impact to Sadio Mané on the Premier League could be seen as a bargain, considering how much the Saints let the Senegalese forward go last summer.
Th 19-year-old has scored 19 goals in 37 appearances for the Belgian side this season, as well as picking up nine assists.
