German side Hertha Berlin are keeping a close eye on the 777 Partners situation at Everton, as they may need to start worrying about receiving their own payments.
Kicker cover the club today amid the ongoing drama around the American group, who are facing numerous issues at their other football clubs and business around the world.
The newspaper questions ‘how long will everything stay quiet at Hertha’, who are yet to experience the same issues the likes of Standard Liege and Vasco de Gama have faced.
777 Partners find themselves in the firing line at this moment in time after a lawsuit in American alleging fraud seemed to set the wheels in motion on a number of issues for the group.
The biggest problems are currently at Standard Liege, where players have been told there is no money to pay them their wages and invoices to suppliers are piling up, also unpaid.
This is all while 777 Partners try to complete a protracted takeover at Everton, which is yet to receive Premier League approval and may in fact be cancelled completely by Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.
Hertha Berlin are yet to suffer any such problems with the American group, with managing director Thomas E. Herrich even praising them in April after they paid a €22m planned payment ahead of schedule.
That was the second such payment of a series of them following the €100m takeover last year, with the first having been delayed by a few days. Another €25m is due over the course of next season and Hertha will be keeping a close eye on the situation around 777 Partners moving forwards.
So far, they’ve had no problems getting the money they’re owed but with the group now seemingly embroiled in problems all over the place, there’s every chance that’s about to change.
Indeed, we would not be surprised if we start to hear talks of problems at Hertha as this situation with 777 Partners continues to develop, and Kicker certainly seem to be worrying on their behalf after taking in what’s been going on over the last few weeks.
