The Idrissa Gueye situation is increasingly complicated and having a domino effect on other potential deadline day deals.
With the midfielder reportedly in Paris, and Everton reportedly increasingly annoyed by the situation, everything continues to be up in the air.
It’s understandable that Gueye would want to make the move, but if PSG won’t pay enough to satisfy the Toffees then it’s also understandable that they’re putting the foot down.
Some of the French reporting this month about ‘greedy’ Everton has been arrogant on behalf of the Ligue 1 champions.
One option for PSG if they don’t do the deal is signing Lille’s Thiago Mendes instead.
However, Telefoot report he’s got an offer from Chinese club Dalian Yifang.
Now it’s a case of waiting to see what happens with Gueye, and if PSG then have to move on to the Lille player. As a twist, Telefoot say Mendes is waiting to hear from Everton as well, who may see him as a Gueye replacement.
The Chinese transfer window doesn’t close this evening, which may mean the player waits until the situation is fully settled.
