Roman Yaremchuk’s departure from Benfica is one of the main topics in the Portuguese sports media today, as the striker is close to a move to Belgian side Club Brugge.
And it turns out that as newspaper A Bola speaks about it, they add some information saying Everton showed up as an interested club as well.
The outlet starts by saying that there are ‘very advanced’ negotiations for Yaremchuck to move to Brugge. That could happen either in a €15m transfer now or a loan with an option to buy.
A Bola then claims that Everton and Sevilla appeared as ‘potential destinations’ in the ‘past few days’. The reason the Belgian side seem to be winning the race is that they showed a bigger and stronger possibility of a deal with the Eagles.
There’s no information on how much the Toffees and Sevilla wanted to pay for the striker, and with Brugge not offering such a mind-blowing deal for Benfica, we wonder if those other competitors were as serious as suggested.
Neal Maupay, the only centre-forward signed by Everton this summer, cost less than Yaremchuck, as he moved to the Goodison Park for €11.8m.
