Everton’s Romelu Lukaku has started the season in impressive form, but his long term future at Everton is still uncertain.

During the summer Lukaku was linked with a move away from Goodison Park, but nothing materialised in the end and seems to be happy where he is, despite comments over the past year regarding an exit.

The 23-year-old still has another three years left on his contract, and Everton are keen on extending it for another couple of years, reports Calciomercato, who say they’ll make a ‘maxi’ offer.

Calciomercato say Lukaku could become the highest paid player at Everton should he accept Everton’s new contract.

Lukaku has been a prolific goalscorer in the last few seasons, and there will be no shortage of interest should he refuse to sign a contract renewal.

Everton, however, might find renewing his contract a bit tricky, with Mino Raiola being his agent, and it remains to be seen if an agreement could be reached swiftly.

The Italian interest comes because of repeated Juventus links, and Lukaku himself saying he had the option to move to Turin.
