Sampdoria signed Julian Chabot from Dutch side FC Groningen in the summer and after being on the bench in the first four matches, he made his debut against Fiorentina last month.

The centre-back then went on to start against Inter Milan and Hellas Verona and also made it to Germany’s U21 squad in September and October. The 21-year-old then played the first half against Spain U21 on Thursday.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Everton had their scouts in attendance at Estadio Nuevo Arcángel in Cordova to watch the two countries in action during the international friendlies.

It’s claimed the Toffees representatives ‘closely followed’ the Serie A defender during the game.

The Italian website doesn’t provide any additional information about the Merseyside club, including whether or not Marco Silva’s side were impressed with the player’s display.

If Everton are keen on signing him Chabot in January or next summer, they may face an uphill task because the German signed a five-year deal at Sampdoria before the start of this season.
