Everton are keeping tabs in Atlético Mineiro fullback Guilherme Arana, according to reports.
Outlet Torcedores claims the Toffees currently have a scout in Japan where he follows the player featuring for Brazil’s team in the Olympics.
It’s said the 24-year-old ended up on Everton’s radar in the last season of the Brazilian League, and is now having his performances evaluated by an official.
It’s pointed out that the Toffees have been monitoring Brazilian players for five seasons, a period where they signed the likes of Allan, Bernard and Richarlison.
Guilherme Arana’s breakthrough was playing for Corinthians a few years ago.
Back in 2017, he was linked to several clubs, including from the Premier League, and ended up moving to Sevilla in January 2018 on a €11m deal.
The left-back ended up returning to Brazil, with Atletico spending €2.5m on his signing.
Now that he’s doing well once again, Torcedores claims that Galo have him tied with a release clause of €40m and don’t plan to let him go for less than that.
The report adds that besides Everton, the likes of Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Milan, New York City, Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donestk all have scouts watching the Olympics as well.
