Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is ‘attracted’ to a move to Nice, and a deal could be agreed between the two clubs ‘soon’.
That’s what L’Equipe report today, picking up on their coverage of the player’s potential return to France from yesterday.
The newspaper broke the news that the French midfielder was a target for the Ligue 1 side, who were eyeing up an experienced addition to their squad this summer.
They reported that he was keen on the move and had told his teammates he was confident of securing it, with later reports indicating he already had a deal in place with the club.
L’Equipe do not confirm that today but do say that Everton and Nice are locked in negotiations over a move with them having ‘intensified’ over the last few days.
Those negotiations started at the €7m mark but ‘dropped off’, with an English source now telling the newspaper it will be around €2m.
There will, however, be ‘significant sources’ included in the deal.
Barring any last-minute hiccups, the two clubs are expected to ‘reach a final agreement’ within the ‘next few hours’ and Schneiderlin will become their second signing of the summer transfer window.
