Signed permanently by Everton during the summer transfer window for just over £27m, Yerry Mina hasn’t been the regular many hoped he would be.

The Colombia international, despite a run of eight starts from a possible nine between November and December, hasn’t featured for the Toffees since the 3-2 loss to Millwall in the FA Cup, and no one really knows why.

Marco Silva wasn’t exactly forthcoming with details ahead of the 1-0 loss against Watford, explaining he would remain out of the squad until he was ready to play.

As Marca Claro (their Colombian edition) point out, Everton haven’t released a statement to say he’s injured (as in the norm in some other countries), and their perceived caginess is starting to be a bit suspicious.

The outlet state on Wednesday the Toffees recently rejected their demand for an interview, claiming that Mina had ‘suffered an injury’ and would return to the team when he could.

On top of all this, the centre-back hasn’t made any public appearances and has given no interviews about his situation.

A mystery, and one the Colombian press are hoping they can get answers for ahead of their national team’s next game against Japan on March 22nd.
