Everton have ‘decided to make a big move’ to sign Juventus defender Merih Demiral this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say several weeks of enquiries from Everton about the player have now turned into a ‘real negotiation’.
The website explain that Juventus are willing to sell pretty much anyone in their squad this summer, with only Matthijs de Ligt and Dejan Kulusevski the only ones they won’t listen to offers for.
That has left the likes of Demiral and his teammates up for auction, and Everton have decided to chance their arm.
They believe their will be no problems on the economic side of things, with Demiral one of the lowest earners at Juventus and his wages only likely to jump to €3m should he move to Goodison Park.
In terms of a transfer fee, it’s stated they have ‘gone into action’ with Juventus, and an offer between €25m and €30m ‘is arriving’ sooner rather than later.
Juve want more than that for the defender, but an agreement is ‘far from impossible’, meaning negotiations to close the gap should go smoothly.
Demiral, for his part, wants to choose his next team carefully and so is taking his time about a decision.
He wants to ‘devote himself’ to Turkey at the European Championships and potentially showcase himself to bigger clubs around Europe.
Juve, though, ‘are in a hurry’ to get a deal done, and Demiral could become one of the ‘fundamental capital gains’ recorded on the book before June 30th, with Everton seemingly ready to pay to get Carlo Ancelotti a new centre back.
