Everton have their eye on Lille youngster Ngal’ayel Mukau and have been sending scouts to watch him this season.

That’s according to Africa Foot, who say the 20-year-old has earned Everton’s attention and they could be set to step up their interest in him.

They explain that after arriving at Lille from KV Mechelen in a €5m deal last summer, Mukau has fully lived up to expectations in France this season. The midfielder has quickly established himself in the Lille midfield both in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

He has one goal and three assist in 30 games in all competitions this season but is valued because of his athleticism and ‘active recovery’.

Big things are expecting of him, with many predicting a bright future, and that hasn’t gone unnoticed in the Premier League, ‘particularly at Everton’.

They’re very interested in the youngster and have been sending scouts to watch Mukau’s performances in recent weeks. They are now keen to recruit the midfielder this summer.

In fact, Africa Foot report that Everton’s new transfer team are willing to put €20m on the table to sign the Congolese youngster this summer. He is currently valued at around €15m.

Whether that’s enough to convince Lille remains to be seen but Everton enjoyed success with signing Amadou Onana from the French club in 2022 and perhaps they are now looking to repeat the operation.
