Earlier today, we covered a report from Turin newspaper Tuttosport which explained Douglas Luiz’s current situation, Having arrived from Aston Villa last summer, the player is for sale after failing to make an impact for Juventus.

Tuttosport’s report mentioned Everton interest but was mainly about an offer from West Ham. The Hammers were said to be prepared to pay for an expensive loan, at around €10m, and then have a €30m buying clause. That clause could become compulsory on certain conditions.

According to the Turin newspaper, that wouldn’t be enough to convince the Serie A club.

Calciomercato now push Everton interest more strongly. It’s claimed Everton are already in contact with Juventus and are now ‘ready to make an offer’.

The Toffees want to take Luiz on loan with an option to buy next summer.

Just as was reported with regards to West Ham’s offer, it’s again stated this wouldn’t be good enough. Juventus want a permanent transfer and a €40m fee.

They paid Aston Villa around €50m so anything less than €40m this summer would see an accounting loss.

Despite the claims on Juventus’ stance, a loan with a compulsory purchase option would have a great chance of success, perhaps at the figures West Ham are said to have offered.
