Everton are ‘ready’ to pay Lazio’s €30m asking price for Joaquin Correa, but the player is currently holding out for better offers.

That’s according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, who say the Blues could move for the Colombian once they’ve gotten rid of James Rodriguez.

The website explains that Correa, who has made it clear he wants to move this summer, currently has two suitors, Inter Milan and Everton.

This is something we’re well aware of at this point, with numerous reports over the last few weeks, including one today, saying Everton had made a €34m bid, stating both clubs want the Argentine.

For Inter, Correa is a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, and coach Simone Inzaghi is keen for him to follow him to Milan.

The club’s management are focused on a move for Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata, though, and are working to make that deal happen.

That leaves the path to Correa open for Everton, and they are ‘ready to satisfy’ Lazio’s €30m demands, but the forward is ‘taking his time’.

There’s a belief he was expecting offers from ‘absolute big names’, but that does not mean Everton can be ‘discarded’ outright.

The Blues need to solve Rodriguez’s future first, however. He wants to leave and agent Jorge Mendes is working to make that happen.

Should he find the new team he wants, that could push Everton to try and ‘close the deal’ for Correa.
