Everton are ‘ready for a new assault’ to sign striker Beto from Udinese this summer after trying to get him in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Il Messaggero Veneto, who say Sean Dyche’s side ‘could meet the economic demands’ of the Italian club to make a transfer happen.
They explain that while those in charge at Udinese are saying that they don’t need to sell their star striker this summer, the reality is that they will sell if the offer is right.
They are aware that there are suitors, and Everton are one of them, having tracked the striker for a year. The Toffees also made a late bid for him at the end of the January transfer window and have continued to be linked since then.
The belief is that Everton are ‘ready to invest’ in the forward as they desperately need to add a striker to their squad after struggling for goals this season.
There are also ongoing concerns about the fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is yet to show he can play more than five games consecutively and is back on the treatment table with a hamstring injury.
At the moment Udinese are insisting that they need €35m for a deal to take place, a figure which would be a big sum for Everton to pay given the state of their current finances.
