There’s good and bad news for Everton fans who would like to see the club sign Joao Mario from Inter Milan.

First the good news.

FC Inter News say the Toffees are one of a number of clubs interested in signing the player, potentially on loan, from Inter Milan this month.

There’s also said to be a ‘rough agreement’ on a move with Everton and other English clubs.

Now the bad news.

Joao Mario isn’t keen. FC Inter News explain the player has so far rejected English approaches, and his agent Kia Joorabchian has been tasked with finding a club which the Portuguese international is keen to sign for.

It’s pointed out all this could change very quickly, and Everton’s chances aren’t dismissed.

With there not being too long left in the winter transfer window, Joao Mario can’t be too choosy, especially given he hasn’t set Serie A alight since his much hyped move to Inter Milan.

An under-performing attacking midfielder seems the last thing Everton need right now, which would make one question just how interested they really are.
