The French media now reports that Idrissa Gana Gueye is on the verge of a move back to Everton.

Two major outlets feature stories explaining how advanced the talks are. One of them is RMC Sport, who say there’s an ‘agreement in principle’ between the Toffees and Paris Saint Germain.

The website claims Gueye ‘should commit to Everton very soon’, as the medical ‘should take place within the next 48 hours’. Despite saying how close the transfer is, they couldn’t manage to find out how much the Goodison Park side are set to spend.

Meanwhile, L’Equipe comes up to say that the negotiations are ‘progressing well’. They claim there are only ‘a few details’ to be sorted between the clubs before the agreement is completely reached.

Gueye left Everton to join PSG in 2019 on a €30m move. These days, he’s valued by Trasnfermarkt at €12m, but since it’s clear the French side are looking to offload some players in the final days of the window and the midfielder is one of them, it’s likely he’ll move for less.
