Everton are ‘on the prowl’ for Cagliari striker Giovanni Simeone following his impressive performances this season.
That’s according to Fichajes, who say the Blues are the ‘first interested’ club in the striker, who is available for as little as €10m.
Simeone has been in impressive form for Hellas Verona this season while on loan from Cagliari, with 11 goals and three assists in 16 games to his name so far.
He is finally enjoying a season in line with the potential shown at the beginning of his career, and this year is lining up to be his best by some margin.
That’s obviously earned him admirers, and Cagliari have already set an asking price of €10m for any interested parties.
Everton are apparently one of them, with that price tag seen as ‘extremely cheap’ given the level at which Simeone has been playing this season.
Whether he can maintain that is unknown, so Cagliari are keen to set a fair price and potentially get a sale that otherwise wasn’t on the cards.
Everton are the ‘first interested’ club as they need adequate cover for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has been injured for much of this season.
They signed Salomon Rondon in the summer to do just that, but the Venezuelan has not impressed, so another option is needed.
That could be Simeone, who would not only been an ‘interesting’ capture but also a necessary one, with the added bonus of being ‘cheap’ thrown in.
