Everton are providing ‘fierce competition’ to Juventus for Borussia Monchengladbach youngster Winsley Boteli.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say Everton have already moved to secure the highly rated 17-year-old’s signature.
They explain that Juventus have set their sights on Boteli, who was recently discovered by director of football Cristiano Giuntoli.
They have become ‘increasingly insistent’ on getting a deal over the line for him and there is a belief that if Juventus were to move with real intent, he could end up in Italy.
They have reportedly ‘swooped on the player’ and that is forcing Juventus to speed up their own interests to try and take him to Turin.
Now, there’s no mention of the actual details of Everton’s efforts for the player, who has 12 goals in 10 games in the U19 Bundesliga West this season and 26 goals in 34 games between Servette and the German side, just that they’re seen as big competition for Juventus.
The belief, at least in Italy, is that Everton are very much in the picture and making moves behind the scenes to try and convince the striker to move to Goodison Park.
