Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web brings today an update on AC Milan’s chase for Strasbourg central defender Mohamed Simakan.
They say the talks continue, and that in case an agreement can be found for between €15m and €20m, then the clubs should be very close to a deal.
However, the outlet points out there are Premier League clubs in this race as well, as Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both interested in the 20-year-old.
It’s claimed that the English sides are ‘pressing’ for an agreement, even though the player would rather make a move to Serie A.
Everton have been linked to a few central defenders in the past couple of months. That got quite big coverage in the Colombian media, as they thought it was Yerry Mina who’d lose his place at Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Despite being only 20-years-of-age, Simakan has been fairly regular in Ligue 1, with 16 appearances for Strasbourg this season, all of them as a starter. With such competition going on, it seems unlikely he’ll stay in France for a lot longer.
