Everton are in ‘pole position’ to sign midfielder Allan from Napoli this summer after several months of speculation about a move.
That’s according to journalist Emanuele Cammaroto, who has an update on the Brazilian’s future today, courtesy of Arena Napoli.
Allan has been heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park since January, with numerous reports having made it clear the Blues were interested.
It’s been well established they are looking to add another central midfielder to their squad this summer given that area of the team has been problematic for several seasons.
A move for Allan, who was a favourite under Ancelotti during his time at Napoli, has thus been mooted as a potential target.
He’s fallen out of favour at Napoli over the last year after a failed move to PSG last year, and there’s now a feeling both he and the club are looking to bring their relationship to an end.
And, according to Cammaroto, Everton are now in ‘pole position’ in the race for his signature this summer, with Napoli ‘working on the sale’ of the Brazilian midfielder.
He offers little more than that, but the fact that Everton are now seemingly at the front of the queue will come as good news to those at Goodison Park.
