Sabah’s Fenerbahce reporter Volkan Demir has spoken to A Spor and said Everton’s Cenk Tosun would be a great replacement for Vedat Muriqi, who’s on the verge of a move to Lazio.
Fener are very close to selling Muriqi to the Serie A club for a fee reported to be in the region of €20m, and Demir claims the Everton man could be his replacement.
Speaking at A Spor, Demir said ‘a fit’ Tosun would be a fantastic signing for Fener and he believes the Turkish international could fill the void left by the Kosovan striker.
Fenerbahce have been linked with a move for the 29 year old in recent weeks in the Turkish media, after reports the club’s sporting director Emre Belozoglu held talks with Everton’s Marcel Brands regarding the attacker.
The former Besiktas striker is currently recovering from a knee injury which he picked up whilst on loan at Crystal Palace last season and is expected to be back in October.
Tosun’s contract at Goodison Park will expire at the end of June 2022.
