Everton midfielder André Gomes has reportedly made a special visit to Benfica youngsters on Thursday.
As written by Portuguese newspaper A Bola today, the 25-year-old went to meet some Eagles’ youngsters who are facing the Toffees tonight.
Benfica and Everton are playing each other in the Premier League International Champions Cup, and will clash for Group D, which also includes Brighton and Bayern Munich.
A Bola claims that Gomes went to visit the Eagles’ squad along with goalkeeper coach Hugo Oliveira and physiotherapist Bruno Mendes, both part of Marco Silva’s staff at the Goodison Park side.
André Gomes spent part of his academy years at Porto and Boavista, but it was at Benfica that he had his first chances as a professional, making over 40 appearances for the club.
Signed by Everton on a loan deal from Barcelona this summer, the midfielder is having some fitness problems, and is still to make his debut for the Toffees.
