Galatasaray are still interested in Everton’s Oumar Niasse and this interest could follow with a bid, according to Turkish newspaper Fanatik.
Galatasaray signed Icelandic forward Kolbeinn Sightorsson at the start of the season, but the 28-year old has been unable to play a single minute due to injuries. Galatasaray’s board believe Sightorsson is not injured and the player says he is, it’s not difficult to see why the relationship between the two parties has broken down.
Galatasaray are therefore in the market for a striker in the January transfer window, and Everton outcast Niasse is certainly one of their options.
The Turkish club have wanted Niasse since his Akhisarspor days and his links with the Turkish giants continued to come when he was at Lokomotiv Moscow, and now at Everton.
The player’s familiarity with the Turkish League will be pivotal for this deal, although Fanatik say therefore could be a problem with a possible deal with Everton.
Everton’s issue is they want to offload Niasse permanently, but Galatasaray currently don’t have enough funds to complete the deal. The Turkish club are wanting a loan deal and the newspaper says Niasse’s preference to play for Galatasaray could force Everton to re-consider their position.
Niasse is also drawing attention from Trabzonspor, but if Galatasaray are serious to get a deal done with Everton, then they are in the pole position claims Fanatik.
