Idrissa Gana Gueye has left the Senegal national team camp after being seen by the medical team, reports La Vie Senegalaise.
The Everton player has been carrying a knee injury and it’s been a worry around the Senegal camp, with manager Alou Cisse confirming this week that there’s been a problem with the player’s fitness.
Gueye missed Everton’s match against Huddersfield Town at the weekend, after it was thought he picked up a knock in the previous game against Bournemouth.
Despite that it was believed he was fit enough for international duty, but things have obviously changed since the midfielder reported for action.
La Vie Senegalaise say the Everton player has now left the national camp, after the medical team team decided he wouldn’t be fit enough to face Madagascar on September 9th.
Given that’s the only game Senegal have, there’s little point him sticking around.
Everton’s medical team will now surely want to conduct their own tests to see how far Gueye is from a return to action.
