Everton star James Rodriguez has insisted he doesn’t know his future at the club after revealing he only really joined because of Carlo Ancelotti.
The Colombian star has been heavily linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer, with it felt that his agent Jorge Mendes is pushing for a transfer.
He’s believed to have offered his client to at least seven clubs so far but is yet to find someone who is willing to pay for the midfielder or cover the big wage packet he currently earns at Everton.
In the meantime, Rodriguez has regularly been commenting on his future on social media platform Twitch, as well as posting cryptic posts on his other social media platforms.
He was recently back on Twitch, and the matter of Lionel Messi’s departure from Barcelona was brought up, leading to Rodriguez commenting on his own situation and how it was similar thanks to Carlo Ancelotti’s departure from Everton earlier this year.
“Kun Agüero went to Barcelona, and now Messi is leaving. They just happen to be little breadsticks, partners,” El Espanol report him saying.
“Those are the things that football has. The same thing happened to me. I go to Everton, practically because Ancelotti was there and look, now Carlo is gone.
“I don’t know what is going to happen. In football and in life, we don’t know anything. Let’s see what happens.
“All I know is that I’m training hard, preparing well. That’s it, that’s the most important thing.
“You have to think about the present, and the present is that I’m here, and I’m training hard and physically well for everything that’s coming.”
