It’s no secret that Idrissa Gueye is currently a target for Paris Saint-Germain, who are desperately looking around Europe for a new defensive midfielder.
However, Everton, understandably, aren’t willing to part ways with one of their more important players midway through the season, and are making life difficult for the Ligue 1 champions.
Said to be asking for €45m, the Toffees are making sure their demands remain above what Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to pay, and, so far, it’s working.
That being said, Marco Silva and co. are doing what every club should do in this situation, and that’s prepare for the worst, meaning Idrissa Gueye ending up in the France capital.
In need of around €30m to balance their books, the Ligue 1 side would be willing to part ways with the Brazilian, who is also being looked at by Paris Saint-Germain, for that amount.
This means any deal, should it need to happen, won’t be difficult to pull off.
However, Téléfoot make it very clear Everton would only make a move should Gueye be sold, so, until that happens, this will be a story to file in the archives for the time being.
