Everton are one of several sides in the picture to sign Real Madrid’s Luka Jović. The striker has managed only six league starts since joining Los Blancos in 2019 and has not started in the league under Carlo Ancelotti this term.
Marca state the 24-year-old’s story at the Bernabéu ‘seems doomed to an unsuccessful end’ and unless there is a surprise twist before the season ends, he ‘will pack his bags this summer’.
The Serbia international is ‘fed up’ in Madrid and several interested parties have asked about his situation at the club since January. A few clubs made contacts to discuss plans and their sporting projects, without mentioning any figures.
Although it’s too early to advance or close a deal in March, the report explains ‘this period is important to take positions’ and that’s what the Toffees have done so far.
It’s claimed Everton, who already tested the ground in January, have ‘moved’ for the frontman. Arsenal, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are also looking at the ex-Bundesliga man.
With a contract expiring in 2025, Marca say Jović’s sale in the summer seems difficult. An exit from Real Madrid through a loan deal with an option to buy is not ruled out.
The player is ‘waiting for negotiations to be held and what formula will be specified’ for him to make a move away from Real Madrid in the next window.
