Roma are ‘negotiating’ with Everton over goalkeeper Pau Lopez, although they are ‘not so convinced’ about sanctioning a loan deal.

Reports emerged last night that Everton were talking with the Serie A side about the goalkeeper, with Jordan Pickford having endured a difficult start to the season.

Those reports stated that the two clubs were negotiating over a possible loan deal, with Roma keen to move Lopez out before the end of the window.

Corriere Dello Sport now back up those claims and say Roma are ‘negotiating’ with Everton about a move for Lopez.

They don’t say whether it’s for a permanent transfer or a loan, but they do say that those in charge in Trigoria aren’t convinced about a loan deal.

However, Lopez is valued at €22m, and currently, nobody is interested in paying that for him, so Roma may have to let him go temporarily if they do want him out.

Il Tempo also have their own information on the subject, saying that an intermediary offered Lopez to Everton, but his agent is currently ‘braking’.

So, at this point it appears Lopez to Everton isn’t moving anywhere quickly, with it even suggested that his agent is holding things up, although why he would do that is anyone’s guess.
