Last Thursday, Sport1 journalist Patrick Berger reported Everton are really pushing to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Hugo Ekitiké.
The Toffees will face competition from two other clubs in the race for the striker.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who state Everton, AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt are all ‘particularly interested’ in the 21-year-old.
The Serie A side have been following him for a long time and were pleased with his displays in preseason. They have the player in their target list but haven’t yet contacted PSG.
Both Sean Dyche’s side and Eintracht Frankfurt have ‘started to exchange’ talks with PSG. They didn’t make a formal bid as they don’t have an agreement with the Frenchman.
Luis Enrique’s side are interested in Randal Kolo Muani. RMC Sport say Eintracht Frankfurt could take advantage of this and request PSG include Ekitiké as part of the deal for his compatriot.
Ekitiké had a meeting with Enrique and PSG advisor Luis Campos last week where they told him he’s no longer needed at the club.
The Ligue 1 side have ‘opened the door’ for his exit, and he’s aware of the situation.
The Paris club paid €34m to buy him from Stade de Reims last summer. The report states none of the clubs interested in Ekitiké would be willing to match that price. Therefore, a loan deal with a right to buy could be a solution for his transfer.
Everton, Eintracht Frankfurt and Milan are interested and Ekitiké needs to make a decision on his future.
