On July 28th, we relayed news from Italy that Everton are expected to make an improved offer for Boulaye Dia after their initial bid of €16m was rejected by Salernitana.
The striker had 16 goals and six assists from 33 games last season and his form has seen him attract interest from clubs across Europe.
Despite this, La Città di Salerno state the 26-year-old has shown willingness to continue at the club for one more season.
It’s claimed Dia’s situation could change, as long as the Serie A side receive a ‘substantial offer’. The report’s title says ‘only the British’ teams can take him away and the Toffees are named.
The website states ‘Everton in particular’ have shown ‘concrete interest’ in the frontman.
Maurizio Milan, the Italian club’s managing director, has claimed the player is more likely to stay than leave this summer. That hasn’t stopped Salernitana chairman Danilo Iervolino considering his sale.
La Città di Salerno state Iervolino ‘wouldn’t mind’ Everton offering €20m plus Neil Maupay for the Senegalese. There’s no mention if Dia is keen to join Sean Dyche’s side.
