Portuguese giants Benfica didn’t have a great night on Saturday, since they lost 1-0 to Braga at their own ground in Lisbon.
And according to the local press, the game attracted an interesting list of scouts. Newspaper Record reports that Everton were among the clubs who sent emissaries.
This wasn’t the only game the Toffees watched last weekend, since they were also present at Vitória Setúbal’s match against Gil Vicente on Friday.
So it wasn’t a long trip to the Estádio da Luz the following day, where they saw Braga midfielder Palhinha being man of the match after scoring the winner against the Eagles.
Everton have been watching a large amount of Benfica’s games in the past couple of years, and despite being linked to Gedson Fernandes, who ended up moving to Spurs in January, there aren’t big claims about a chase for other stars.
Perhaps the Toffees will leave their moves for the summer window, but they definitely have something of interest at the Estádio da Luz.
