Despite a rather poor first half of the season on loan at Valencia, which led the La Liga side to make efforts to cancel his stay early, Michy Batshuayi remains a wanted man around Europe.

Normally very prolific in front of goal, the Belgium international’s reputation hasn’t been dented by his second half of 2018, and RMC Sport’s Sacha Tavolieri explained the situation on Twitter.

According to the journalist, the Chelsea forward is very clear in what he wants: a move to Monaco.

However, the Blues have received offers from all around Europe for their man, with clubs such as Fiorentina (loan without a view to buy) and Napoli (loan with a view to buy) coming forward.

On top of the two Italians, Everton, who have made their interest known for a while, are still insisting on signing the Belgian, which is slowing down Batshuayi’s move to Monaco.

As things stand, Tavolieri makes it clear all that’s needed for Batshuayi to sign for Monaco is FIFA’s authorisation, as the player was expected to have everything signed on Monday night, but Chelsea are exploring their options.

It’s been previously explained that due to Everton already loaning Kurt Zouma, any transfer to Goodison Park for Batshuayi would have to be a permanent one, and this appears to be the Blues’ preferred transaction.

We’ll have to see who wins here, Chelsea or their striker, but RMC Sport’s Tavolieri says he remains ‘optimistic’ about a move to Monaco happening.
