Everton’s Jonjoe Kenny is on loan at Schalke and has proven to be a big hit in Germany having featured regularly for David Wagner’s side.
His performances have convinced the Bundesliga club to sign him on a permanent deal and Schalke head of sports Jochen Schneider suggested in February that his side would hold talks with the Toffees regarding the right-back in the summer.
Kenny’s contract at Goodison Park lasts until 2022 and it’s today pointed he’s valued at €12m by Transfermarkt, although that’s completely irrelevant to what Everton would ask for.
According to Germany’s TZ, Schalke need to ‘dig deep into their pockets’ to sign the fullback on a permanent transfer. However, any potential deal for Kenny will also depend on Djibril Sidibé.
The Merseyside club took the Frenchman on a season-long loan deal from AS Monaco and have an option to make his transfer permanent.
TZ state that if Carlo Ancelotti’s side ‘succeed’ in signing Sidibé on a permanent deal, then Everton could, in return, consider offering a ‘large concession’ to Schalke for Kenny.
