Every club in the Premier League has transfer regrets, but in recent years, Everton have racked up more than their fair share.

Before Marcel Brands arrived at the club, the Blues spent money like it was going out of fashion, most of it to very little success.

Indeed, most of the transfers brought in during that time are players they are now actively looking to get rid of.

Others have moved on and picked up their careers elsewhere, and one of those is Croatian midfielder, Nikola Vlasic.

He left Everton for CSKA Moscow in 2018 on loan, eventually joining the Russian side permanently in a £15m deal last summer.

At the time there were plenty of Everton fans who questioned the move, something they’ve continued to do as he’s impressed in Russia.

That’s now been picked up on by Sportske Novosti, who cover the disappointment at Goodison Park in a piece today.

They state that ‘the English are watching in total disbelief’ at what the ‘great Croat’ is doing with CSKA, covering how Everton fans’ comments on the player ‘read almost like Nostradamus prophecy’.

The newspaper says that the blue part of Liverpool is ‘burning and hurting more and more’ over the player leaving and that, after his two goals against Arsenal Tula recently, the fan forums were ‘overwhelmed with lamentations’from inconsolable fans’.

Sportske end their piece by predicting a big move for Vlasic in the near future, one of over €30m, arguing the Russian league is becoming ‘too crowded’ for him at the moment.

Should that happen, it’s sure to infuriate Everton fans further, with this sale one that few view as a good piece of business at this moment in time.
