With Yacine Brahimi’s contract with Porto expiring at the end of the season, the Portuguese press starts to be sure that he’s leaving the club in the summer.
Newspaper Correio da Manhã brings a short story today saying he ‘should’ walk, especially because he’s free to sign a pre-contract in January.
As Brahimi has been linked to a Premier League move for years, the newspaper writes that England is the most likely destination for him.
They recall that Everton, Newcastle and West Ham are all interested in him, although there’s no new information on contacts from these clubs.
We’ve literally lost count of how many Brahimi rumours we’ve covered in the past few years, and that’s why we wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a new contract with Porto being signed soon.
But still, this news should be a warning for all the clubs who are interested in him, as Brahimi was supposed to be an expensive player and can now sign for free.
The player has 44 goals and 36 assists in 182 games for FC Porto so far, and used to be protected by a €60m release clause.
