Everton are yet to show ‘concrete’ interest in PSV Eindhoven defender Denzel Dumfries, with wider interest growing in his signature.
That’s according to De Telegraaf, who say any suitors will have to first deal with super-agent Mino Raiola.
Everton have been linked with Dumfries over the past few weeks, with reports in the Netherlands indicating that Marcel Brands had identified him as an option as he seeks a new right-back for the Blues.
There’s been little movement on that front since the initial reports, and in the meantime, Dumfries has been starring at the European Championship.
He played a key role in the Netherland’s win over Ukraine, a performance that is believed to have increased competition for his signature.
De Telegraaf take a look at the situation today, and while they don’t mention any suitors, such as Everton, they do hint a transfer is on the way for Dumfries.
They say that the €5.5m PSV paid for Dumfries in 2018 ‘will be multiplied’ if the Dutch side manage to sell him this summer.
However, any clubs who are interested in a deal will have to ‘first report’ to Raiola, who ‘knows exactly what PSV wants’.
That isn’t detailed as yet, and so far, ‘the interest is not yet concrete’ but has been ‘stirred up’ by his performance at the Euros.
Everton, then, are likely to face a fight for Dumfries signature and will need to get in contact with Raiola, a man they’ve had dealings with in the past, if they want to win the race.
