It’s fair to say that things didn’t work out for Moise Kean at Everton following his arrival from Juventus last summer.

The striker could never get going at Goodison Park, failing to win over Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti in his season and a bit in the North West.

It felt almost inevitable when he was shipped out to PSG at the end of the window, although there was some surprise that Everton let him go without signing a replacement.

Anyway, the whole idea of sending Kean to PSG was to let him get his confidence and form back, hopefully, so he can flourish on Merseyside or restore his market value.

That’s certainly working out so far, with Kean currently flourishing in France after something of a stumbling start.

Two goals in the Champions League this week have earned him plaudits from all corners, particularly in Italy, where he’s gotten coverage from Gazzetta Dello Sport today.

They say Kean is providing the ‘answer’ to Carlo Ancelotti, who ‘did not see him’ at Everton and left the striker ‘quivering’ to get out as soon as possible.

They believe that if Kean was still at Everton, he would ‘warm a bench, play ten minutes and then return to oblivion’.

Instead, he is starring in Paris, with two goals in Ligue 1 and then another double in the Champions League inside a week, meaning he has ‘taken advantage’ of Mauro Icardi’s absence and established himself in Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

L’Equipe also cover the striker and compare him to Icardi, saying that Kean has shown the ‘same efficiency’ that the Argentine did when he arrived on loan last year.

The newspaper says ‘many common points’ bring them together, with Kean having enjoyed the ‘same feeling of successful integration’. It’s their belief that the two could end up complimenting each other moving forward.

Basically, everyone is impressed by his sudden return to form in France, with Gazzetta even hinting that Everton and Ancelotti made a mistake not giving him more of a chance.

Of course, that’s something that could change across the campaign, but for now, Kean’s flag is flying high and he’s managed to turn his career around in less than a month.
