Everton are not completely opposed to selling Moise Kean to Paris Saint Germain but don’t want to discuss it in this transfer window.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who provide an update on the situation after recent reports of an offer from the French giants.
Kean is currently on loan at PSG, having joined from Everton in the summer after a disastrous first year at Goodison Park following a move from Juventus in 2019.
He’s been a massive hit in Paris, with 11 goals and one assists in 20 games so far making him a key player under Thomas Tuchel before his departure.
PSG are keen to turn his loan into a permanent transfer and reports this week indicated they had already been in touch with Everton over a €30m move.
Foot Mercato pick up on that today and back it up, confirming PSG are keen to keep the Italian permanently as he has ‘captivated observers’ with his performances.
Those in charge at the club are ‘aware of the qualities’ he possesses and, as his loan deal doesn’t include a purchase clause, have approached Everton to ‘define the contours’ of a deal.
They’re willing to go up to €34.6m for the striker, a price that would see Everton make a small profit on the £24.75m they paid to sign Kean from Juventus.
Everton, though, are in no rush to do a deal. While their board would ‘not completely close the door’ to a permanent transfer, they don’t want to ‘open this file’ in the winter market either.
They would prefer a deal next summer if they had to do one as that strategy could see them make an even bigger profit if Kean continues to shine.
In that eventuality his ‘market value may explode’, and that is something Everton are more than aware of, preferring to hold fire and make PSG wait in the hope they will have to pay more to make Kean’s deal permanent.
