On Wednesday, one of Everton’s scouts, Carlo Jacomuzzi, was spotted in Milan, and explained to Radio CRC in Italy that he was there to have a chat with a few clubs regarding the summer transfer window.

He said the club would speak with the likes of AC Milan, Fiorentina and Napoli, and based on his mentions of Carlos Bacca and Duvan Zapata in the same interview, we suggested a chat about Nikola Kalinic could be on the agenda too.

However, Corriere Fiorentino on Thursday have a different opinion, as they believe Everton are there to have a chat with Fiorentina regarding Josip Ilicic, having booked an appointment to meet Pantaleo Corvino, the Serie A club’s director of football.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past, and, with just one year left on his contract, could see this summer as the ideal opportunity to try something new before his thirties.

Despite having a less prolific season than in 2016, the attacking midfielder still managed to score six goals and provide five assists in 36 appearances last season, and with him reportedly being valued around €7m, there are worse gambles to make.

More to come on this undoubtedly after the meeting.
