Everton boss Marco Silva has spoken to Croatian TV station SportKlub and was quizzed about the situation with Nikola Vlasic.
The Portuguese manager was asked about Vlasic, who’s currently on loan at CSKA Moscow and he said he is happy for him because he’s getting a regular football in Russia: “We wanted Nikola (Vlasic) to play as much as possible to demonstrate his best qualities. We are watching him very closely.
“When the right time comes, we will make a decision for him. I am pleased that he is playing regular football, that’s the reason why we sent him to Russia in the first place.”
The Croatian attacking midfielder has previously stated he would like to continue his career at CSKA Moscow, but there’s also been reported interest from Turkish club Besiktas.
Earlier this month we covered reports from the Turkish media that Besiktas were looking to use Domagoj Vida to convince the Everton player to come to Istanbul.
Vlasic signed for Everton during the 2017 summer transfer window but struggled in his debut season in the Premier League.
The 22 year old has played 27 games for CSKA in all competitions this season and scored 8 goals. He is under contract at Goodison Park until June 2022.
