Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf have a big feature in their Tuesday edition on who will be the next Netherlands manager. The sacking of Danny Blind was overdue as far as many Dutch football fans are concerned, and it was underwhelming that he got the role in the first place.

Following the Netherlands 2-0 loss to Bulgaria at the weekend, De Telegraaf ran a poll asking if Blind should be sacked… and a huge 95% of respondents said yes.

The newspaper have run another poll, asking who should be the next manager. Louis van Gaal is far out ahead, and he’s followed by Frank De Boer, and then Everton manager Ronald Koeman.

Everton’s boss may well have been higher up the list if it hadn’t been considered prohibitive to get him. De Telegraaf say Koeman wanted the job three years ago, but was Screen Shot 2017-03-28 at 10.57.48cast aside, and now he’s quite happening achieving success with Everton in the Premier League.

He’s said to have already made it known he has no desire to take the job.

On top of that, the Netherlands would have to pay Everton a hefty release fee, something they’d be unlikely to find inviting.

It’s not a great time to take on Oranje, they were in a bad way before Blind took over and he somehow managed to make things even more depressed.
