Everton midfielder Allan is thinking of leaving the club this summer, a year before his contract comes to an end.
That’s according to La Repubblica, relayed by Solo La Lazio, who say Lazio are keeping a close eye on the situation.
We’ve seen several reports over the last few weeks that Lazio could be keen on the Everton midfielder because of manager Maurizio Sarri.
He worked with Allan at Napoli, and the pair had an excellent relationship, with the Brazilian arguably playing his best football under his leadership.
Sarri would reportedly like to rekindle that at his new club, and La Repubblica now seem to back that up, adding the chance of a transfer may be there.
According to their information, Allan is ‘working for an early release’ from Goodison Park, with his current contract set to expire next summer.
They say his ‘adventure’ in England seems to be close to its conclusion as it ‘never clicks’ with Everton in terms of his performances or the fan feeling towards him.
He can leave on a free next year but is looking to move this summer instead, and Lazio and Sarri are ‘very interested’ in the situation. In fact, Sarri would ‘gladly’ reunite with one of his ‘old pupils’.
They’ll have to work out a deal with Everton, who will surely look to recoup as much of the £21.24m they paid for him in 2020, particularly as they need the money to offset some of their FFP issues.
What price Lazio will pay isn’t mentioned, but the interest is certainly there, and with Allan now working to leave as well, there’s certainly a deal to be done.
