Everton striker Beto is considered as the ‘simplest solution’ for Roma before the end of the transfer window, thanks to their shared ownership.
That’s according to Il Messaggero, via Tuttomercatoweb, who report that Roma want a centre-forward as an alternative to Artem Dovbyk.
The newspaper explains that the Italian side want a striker who is skilled in aerial play and in ‘finishing the action’, knows how to lead the team, play with his back to goal and accept physical confrontation.
They’ve drawn up a list of potential targets and Beto is on it. Numerous reports from Italy have also indicated as much this month.
Il Messaggero now add that there are two potential solutions for Roma at this moment in time. The first, ‘much simpler’ option, would be to sign Beto from Everton. That operation would be an easy one because both sides are now owned by the Friedkin Group.
Their efforts would also presumably be made easier by the fact Beto reportedly wants to leave Everton as soon as possible.
He’s continued to find himself out of the picture under David Moyes and now wants to return to Italy to get his career back on track.
Whether a deal can be done, particularly as Everton would need to go and find a replacement too, remains to be seen but Roma seem to think he’s their easiest option to boost their forward line this month.
