Everton striker Cenk Tosun has finalised an agreement with Besiktas to return in the summer when his deal at Goodison Park expires.
That’s according to Turkish newspaper Star, who say the striker is ‘preparing to leave’ England and make a return to his homeland.
The newspaper states that Tosun has ‘decided to leave’ the Premier League when his current contract at Everton comes to an end.
The 31-year-old will not be staying in England at that point and has instead made the decision to return to the Super Lig for a third spell at his former club.
According to Star’s information, Tosun has reached an agreement with Besiktas on a three-year deal worth €1.6m a year.
He ‘will return’ once he finishes this season with Everton, where he is a part of Frank Lampard’s squad but remains on the fringes.
His return to Turkey will bring an end to a miserable spell with the Toffees that has been beset by long-term injuries and a failure to get anywhere the levels he managed in Turkey.
It’s been reported for months that a return to Besiktas was likely this summer, and it now seems he’s finalised a deal to make that happen.
