According to a claim in the Turkish press, Everton are still interested in Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Premier League side have been linked with a move for the DR Congo international in recent weeks as they look to strengthen in defence for next season.
Turkiye have reported on a potential move to the Premier League for the central defender and they say Everton are one of the English sides that are tracking him. They claim the Toffees could come in with an offer for Luyindama, despite him not playing since November.
Luyindama picked up anACL injury whilst playing for his country last year and he’s only just returned to training with Gala. However, it’s not thought this has deterred Everton in their pursuit of the 26 year old and they could look to move in on him.
There’s a possibility he’s being kept as an option by Marcel Brands, but he’s likely several lines down the list.
Galatasaray paid €8m to Standard Liege to sign Luyindama last summer and he made 15 appearances for the club in all competitions before being sidelined.
His contract with the Turkish club will expire at the end of June 2022.
