On Thursday, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio stated Everton have concrete interest in Beto and could present an offer to sign the Udinese star.
Later that day, TuttoMercatoWeb stated the Toffees have a clear desire to land the striker and negotiations are likely to take place soon.
Sky Italia explain that Everton have sent the ‘first offer’ to the Serie A side for the 25-year-old.
Sean Dyche’s side have offered €25m plus €5m in bonuses but this didn’t please the Italian club.
Despite this, the report states the two clubs ‘continue to negotiate’ for the transfer. It’s claimed Udinese’s request is ‘slightly higher’, around €35m, without making it clear whether this is including or excluding bonuses.
Udinese rejected the Merseyside club’s offer for the player in January. The situation could be different this time around as there’s a belief Beto could end up in the Premier League.
Sky state Inter Milan have also shown interest in the frontman but he could say ‘goodbye to Italy’ and make a switch to England, where Everton are keen to secure his services.
Beto managed 10 goals and two assists from 34 games last season. He has a goal and an assist from two matches this season.
