Everton have made an offer to Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, but face competition from Lyon for his signature.

That’s according to journalist Santi Aouna, who reports that the race for the midfielder is currently heating up and Everton are very much competing in it.

Ndidi is set to become a free agent at the end of this month when his contract with Leicester City comes to an end.

Clubs around Europe have been lining up to try and get him with that in mind and Everton are one of them, with several reports making it clear they’ve moved early and made a proposal to the Leicester star.

Aouna continues that today, stating that as of this point, Lyon and Everton are the sides to have made an offer to the Nigerian midfielder.

He adds that Monaco are also interested in him, and Leicester are still working to try and extend his contract, while Sevilla are interested but unlikely to be able to take that interest to any kind of conclusion.

That potentially gives Everton the chance to get their man and it appears they’re certainly trying to beat the competition, with an offer made and only one of two currently on the table.
