Premier League side Everton have made an approach for the Benfica winger Andrija Zivkovic, according to the Portuguese press today.

Newspaper Correio da Manhã claims that Marco Silva is a big admirer of the player’s qualities, and the Toffees have made ‘first contacts’ ahead of the signing.

And Benfica have already given a response. The outlet says that the Eagles told the Goodison Park side that they want €35m for the sale.

Although Zivkovic is protected by a €60m release clause, Benfica believe that would be a fair price for a player who hasn’t been getting many minutes, and they would also free themselves of paying his wages, which are some of the biggest in the squad.

Meanwhile, Zivkovic would like the chance of moving to the Premier League, especially for a club who gives him more playing time.

Signed from Partizan Belgrade in 2016, Zivkovic has four goals and 24 assists in 84 matches for Benfica. He’s turning 23 in July.
